Information we collect
Information you give us. When you contact us, send an enquiry through our website form, message us on WhatsApp or book an MOT, service or repair, we may collect:
- your name
- email address and phone number
- vehicle registration number, make, model and year
- the service you need and any details you tell us about your vehicle
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our web server records basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working properly. We do not use Google Analytics, or any advertising or tracking cookies, on this website.
How we use your information, and our legal reasons
- To book, carry out and manage your MOT, service or repair, including confirmations, reminders, quotes and updates about your vehicle. Legal reason: to perform our contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering into one.
- To answer your enquiries and questions. Legal reason: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To keep records we are required to keep, such as invoices for tax purposes and MOT test records. Legal reason: legal obligation.
- To keep our website secure and improve our services. Legal reason: our legitimate interests.
- To send you service or MOT reminders or offers, only where you have agreed or where the law allows. You can opt out at any time.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information. We only share it where necessary:
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as our online booking system provider, website host, email provider, SMS reminder and payment providers. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Parts suppliers that we order parts from. We share your vehicle registration number with them so that we can identify and order the correct parts for your service or repair. They may only use it for that purpose.
- The DVSA, when we carry out an MOT test, as required by law.
- When required by law, or to protect our legal rights, for example to prevent fraud.
Third-party services on this website
- Online booking: our Book Online page shows our booking system, provided by garage-booking-live.com. Information you enter there is used to manage your booking, and that system may set cookies it needs to work.
- Google Maps: the map on our website shows where our garage is. It only loads when you click to show it. When it loads, Google may set cookies and receive your IP address, under Google’s own privacy policy.
- WhatsApp: if you message us on WhatsApp, your message and phone number are also handled under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
- Contact form: messages sent through our contact form are emailed to us so we can reply. Our website does not keep a copy of them; they are handled by our email provider on our behalf.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: our contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which helps us tell real visitors from automated spam. Turnstile may collect limited technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, for this purpose, under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on them having appropriate safeguards in place as required by UK data protection law.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it:
- Customer, vehicle, job and invoice records: for six years after your last visit. Each time you visit us, the six-year period starts again. This lets us keep your vehicle’s history, meet tax and accounting rules, and deal with any queries or claims.
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to six years.
- MOT test records: for the period required by the DVSA.
After these periods, your information is securely deleted.
How we protect your information
We use secure systems and encryption to protect your data, and access is limited to staff who need it to do their job, such as our service advisors and mechanics.
Cookies
Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no cookie banner. We may set cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work and stay secure. If you click to show the map, Google Maps may set cookies, and our embedded booking system may also set cookies it needs to work. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies, but some parts of the site, such as online booking, may then not work properly.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- ask us to delete your information, subject to records we are legally required to keep
